Interactive Workbooks for Public Engagement

Last Spring, Denver began utilizing EngagingPlans' Interactive Workbook feature to offer an intuitive way for citizens to learn about the challenges a city is facing while exploring different alternatives. Delivering Denver's Future website implemented their Participatory Budget workbook to allow citizens to try their hand at balancing the city's budget. The workbooks, a new tool from EngagingPlans, are set up as one-page surveys that are easy to navigate on different devices, from laptops to iPads. Infographics, maps, multi-media and survey elements are tightly integrated to provide sufficient background information to participants and create an environment that fosters curiosity in participants to explore different scenarios and tradeoffs.
